John
O'Sullivan, who ran for council on the
Republican ticket last year, today
announced his candidacy for the
Republican nomination for the South
Brunswick Township Council seat recently
vacated by Carol Barrett. The
election to fill the vacated council
seat is November 3rd, 2009.
Mr. O'Sullivan was the top Republican
candidate vote getter in last November's
election for South Brunswick Township
Council.
"It is important that we, the Republican
Party, take advantage of this
opportunity instead of waiting till 2010
to partake in the township election,"
said Mr. O'Sullivan.
"I have been asked what got in
interested to run again. It is the
way the Democratic controlled council
voted on the new garbage/recycling
contract
[See:
Recycling Garbage],"
stated Mr. O'Sullivan. "The
council awarded the contact to a firm
whose bid was approximately $900,000
higher than the lowest bidder.
That's in conceivable to me, especially
in these hard economic times."
"I just don't know how the Democratic
council can sleep at night with the
decision it made," said Mr. O'Sullivan.
