Council Discussion Should Be In Public
Letter to the Editor of the South Brunswick Post
February 1, 2007

In my letter to you, I in no way was insinuating that the South Brunswick mayor and Township Council were not hard-working, dedicated and responsible people.  I know how much time and sacrifice it takes for members of this council to do their job.

My criticism of Councilwoman Carol Barrett's comment stands.  Ms. Barrett volunteered the statement to the press, that she and the mayor and council have disagreements on township issues but not at the township meetings.  As members of the community we can see that there is little discussion and only "yes" votes throughout the meeting.

As an elected official, you swear to uphold the law.  The law states that if three or more of you meet for township business prior public notification is required.

So where are these differences aired?
