2005 estimate of three hundred million dollar for
the widening of Rt. 1. Despite the bravado the of Mayor’s
election debate claim that the road would be widened two or three
years the facts are that the widening has not even achieved project
status at DOT. The current State study under way is to look at our
corridor including Rt. 130 with the idea of what can be done short
of widening Rt. 1 that would help traffic flows.
Putting these two reverse jug handles in
place on Rt. 1 would do just that. It would make it easier to get
across Rt. 1 and to move along Rt. 1. Right now this local
government is doing nothing, no lobbying of the State or anything
and that does not serve us at all. To put this on the master plan
and lobbying the State are needed first steps.
If the readers have had enough of this
misadventure in doing nothing about this intersection
or at Beekman
and Rt. 27 or indeed many other sites then let’s hear from
you either here or at our Republican Web site,
