Letter to the Editor of the Sentinel
October 16, 2006Dear Editor,
The Lynch Dollars, the $1,500 influence
peddling dollars, given to the local Democrats from a convicted and
soon to be imprisoned felon have left the Democrats in a quandary.
Shall they give the money to a good
cause or not?
The two candidates for Mayor and
Council, Frank Gambatese and Chris Kilmurray, don’t seem to want to
do it. Frank Gambatese as usual can’t make up his mind. First he
says the Republicans should give back the money they got from Jack
Abramhoff, Washington lobbyist. Then he says maybe it would be OK
to give the money to charity to reduce voter cynicism about
corruption in government.
Fair enough Frank, I endorse giving all
the money back that the local Republicans got from Jack Abramhoff
all you have to do is give back the dollars you got from Lynch.
We’ve already done our part, since we never go at dime from
Abramhoff. Now do your part and give to Johnny’s ill intentioned
gains to charity.
So far the only words I have seen in
print from the two Democrat former members of the Lynch, Martin law
firm, candidate Chris Kilmurray and Democrat party chief, Bernie
Hovdovic are, No we’re not giving any more money to charity. That
from Bernie, apparently unaware that there is not yet a cure for
cancer or an end to homelessness,
The point is that these are dirty
dollars. These were especially toxic dollars in South Brunswick
because their aim was to influence a zoning decision on the East
side of town for the local Sand Company. The voters in South
Brunswick and in East Village know what those attempts were for I
believe they want the money given away to charity and these guys out
of office...
Where Chris Kilmurray is on this I don’t
know. He certainly isn’t jumping up and down and saying “I’ll give
it back.” Why do we need this guy as a candidate anyway or Bernie
Hvozdovic as a Party official either since they were both Lynch
Martin Law firm members when this stuff was going on. That
connection is too eerie for me.
I think the readers of this paper want
something better. If they do, they need to vote for Lynda Woods
Cleary for Mayor and Nanette Craig for Council. Vote to make it a
two party Council and put an end to the culture of closed door
decisions. Lynda and Nanette will ensure a full public discussion
of all the important issues in the Township. They will bring a
clear voice for clean government to South Brunswick.
Sincerely,
Harry Moss
